China Expands National and Regional Pediatric Medical Centers

Network Expansion Details
The National Health Commission has announced that more national pediatric medical centers will be established to improve access to quality childcare services. According to a notice released on the commission's official website on Wednesday, two regional pediatric medical centers — one in Shenyang, Liaoning province, and the other in Guangzhou, Guangdong province — will be upgraded to the national level.
In addition, five pediatric hospitals in the provinces of Shanxi, Jiangsu, Hunan and Yunnan, as well as Tianjin municipality, will be designated as regional centers for pediatric care. These hospitals are required to provide high-quality pediatric healthcare, build child-friendly hospitals, and play a leading role in enhancing the overall pediatric diagnosis and treatment capacity.
With these changes, China now has a total of five national pediatric centers and nine regional pediatric centers.
